LaserTV BIG Night In

Halloween is guaranteed to look a bit different this year

With Trick or Treating and social distancing not quite going hand in hand, and the usual fancy dress parties restricted to six thanks to the pandemic, some of our favourite traditions are on hold until next year. In the mean time, here’s our guide to bringing the lockdown Halloween horror home this year! Things are about to get spooky.

It’s not officially Halloween until you put on a classic Halloween movie. Whether you want a nightmare inducing classic horror, or something a bit more uplifting, keep reading for the best films to get you into the Halloween spirit.

Enjoy the horror on a whole new level this year with over 100 inches of 4k display and Harman Kardon sound for the ultimate experience from LaserTV. Your living room is the new pop up multiplex!

We’ve asked the LaserTV team for their definitive list of must see Halloween movies, so grab the best seat in the house, stock up on your favourite snacks and snuggle up with our list of top ten Halloween film favourites.

Family Friendly

It’s that time of year when horror fans are in their element, but let’s be honest, scary films aren’t for everyone. For those of us who enjoy sleeping at night without the lights on, here are our top 5 family friendly Halloween picks.

Casper (1995)

You can’t get more family friendly than a mini less surly than normal Christina Ricci, and an actual self-proclaimed friendly ghost.

Ghostbusters (1984)

Classic 80’s comedy with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd et al in boiler suits battling spooks and a marshmallow man. We’ve chosen the original over the still ever so slightly terrifying sequel!

Hocus Pocus (1993)

The ultimate 90’s crowdpleaser, complete with Bett Midler, the always well dressed SJP, angsty teens and a talking cat. What more could you ask for?

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Halloween meets Christmas in this classic Tim Burton favourite, where Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington discovers Christmas.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001)

“You’re a wizard, Harry.” Need we say more?

Reach for the cushion and prepare to throw your popcorn everywhere with our top 5 classics to get your heart racing.

Scream (1996)

Celeb spotting a’plenty from Drew Barrymore to Courtney Cox in this Wes Craven tongue in cheek teen slasher that revamped the genre in the 1990’s.

Halloween (1978)

There’s nothing more Halloween appropriate than actual Halloween. Jamie Lee Curtis stars in this cult classic, trying to avoid escaped killer Michael Myers.

Evil Dead (1981)

It has to be the original for director Sam Raimi at his best. Teenagers staying in isolated cabin in the woods find a Book of the Dead. What could possibly go wrong?! (Spoiler: a lot!)

The Shining (1980)

Stanley Kubrick horror heaven with Jack Nicholson. You might want to avoid lifts for a while. And hotels. And corridors.

Us (2019)

Stanley Kubrick horror heaven with Jack Nicholson. You might want to avoid lifts for a while. And hotels. And corridors.
